Vacation Bidding Management

Managers can create and track vacation bidding sessions for their employees in Dayforce.

Vacation bidding sessions, in which employees bid on eligible vacation dates during a configurable segment of time, are configured in Vacation Bidding > Vacation Bidding Sessions. Employees submit vacation bids as typical time away from work requests. For more information on the vacation bid submission process, see the Employee Guide.

After you’ve configured vacation bidding sessions, you can review active and pending sessions in Vacation BiddingBidding Dashboard.

Before creating and reviewing vacation bidding sessions, you might need to assign vacation bidding groups to employees in People in the Work > Vacation Bidding Group screen. You also might need to assign vacation bidding subgroups to employees if your organization needs to define different vacation eligibility for specific employees in a bidding group. You assign vacation bidding subgroups to employees in People in the Employment > Employee Properties screen.

Additionally, if your organization has configured vacation bidding policies with the Vacation Bidding Rank sort order (that is, employees bid on vacation periods in a customized order, rather than by seniority or hire date), you must configure the rank order in People in the Employment > Employee Properties screen.

The steps for creating and reviewing vacation bidding sessions in Dayforce are outlined below:
