Timesheet Icons

Dayforce shows the following icons in the Timesheets feature, when applicable.

Shift status icons
Icon Description
Green circle icon indicating worked shifts that were scheduled. Worked shifts that were scheduled.
Green circle with an arrow icon indicating scheduled employee has clocked in. Worked shifts that were scheduled and that the employee had clocked in for using a Dayforce clock. The employee is “on the clock,” meaning they’ve clocked in for the day. After the employee clocks out, the shift is marked with the green worked shift icon ().
Green square icon indicating paid-to-schedule shifts. Paid-to-schedule shifts. Dayforce is configured to pay the employee, by default, for their scheduled time.
Yellow circle icon indicating worked shifts that were not scheduled. Worked shifts that weren’t scheduled. The employee wasn’t scheduled but recorded worked time on the day. The times in the cell represent when the employee recorded working.
Yellow circle with an arrow icon indicating worked shifts with unscheduled clock entries. Worked shifts that weren’t scheduled and that the employee clocked in for using a Dayforce clock. The employee is “on the clock,” meaning they’ve clocked in for the day. After the employee clocks out, the shift is marked with the yellow unscheduled worked shift icon ().
Red circle icon indicating scheduled shifts that the employee did not work. Scheduled shifts that the employee didn’t work.
Green circle with checkmark icon indicating unworked scheduled shifts with pay adjustments. Scheduled shifts that the employee didn’t work but have a pay adjustment recorded against them. For example, if an employee was absent for a shift, but you or another manager created a vacation pay adjustment on the day, Dayforce labels the shift with this icon.
Blue circle icon indicating that one or more activities are scheduled on this day. Indicates that one or more activities are scheduled on this day. Dayforce might also show custom activity icons for certain activities.
Shift detail icons
Icon Description
Shift start icon. The shift start time.
Shift end icon. The shift end time.
Pencil icon. The shift has unsaved changes.
Meal icon. The shift includes a meal.
Break icon. The shift includes a break.
Employee waived meal icon. Employee waived meal icon with a 1 to indicate they waived their first meal. Employee waived meal icon with a 2 to indicate they waived their second meal. The employee waived their scheduled meal or break.
Manager waived meal icon. Manager waived meal icon with a 1 to indicate they waived the employee's first meal. Manager waived meal icon with a 2 to indicate they waived the employee's second meal. The manager waived the employee’s scheduled meal or break.
Employee and manager waived a meal icon. Employee and manager waived the first meal icon. Employee and manager waived the second meal icon. Both the employee and manager waived the employee’s scheduled meal or break.
Employee attestation icon. The employee reported a missed break.
Manager attestation icon. The manager reported a missed break on behalf of an employee.
Employee and manager attestation icon. Both the employee and manager reported a missed break.
Auto-inject icon. Meals or breaks were automatically inserted into the shift.
Call-in shift icon. An employee has been called in to work the shift.
Employee comment icon. The shift contains an employee comment.
Manager comment icon. The shift contains a manager comment.
Employee and manager comment icon. The shift contains both an employee and manager comment.
Employee authorization icon. The employee authorized the shift.
Manager authorization icon. A manager authorized the shift, or the system automatically authorized the shift.
Employee and manager authorization icon. Both an employee and manager authorized the shift.
Time-based pay adjustment icon. A time-based pay adjustment on the timesheet.
Amount-based pay adjustment icon. An amount-based pay adjustment on the timesheet.
Transfer icon. A transfer was added to a shift.
Secondary location icon. The shift occurs at the employee’s secondary location.
Shift Marketplace icon. The shift was picked up in Shift Marketplace.
Error icon. There is a serious problem with the shift.
Warning icon. A warning message exists for a problem with the shift.
Informational icon. An informational message exists for the shift.
Recalculation required icon. The data shown in the timesheet doesn’t represent the most recent changes. Recalculation is required.
Transmitted pay icon. Pay has already been transmitted and any edits to the employee’s timesheet data will create retro adjustments. This icon is shown next to the employee’s name.
Green checkmark icon. Red X icon.

Indicate the employee’s response when they are asked to sign off on the accuracy of their timesheet. The green checkmark icon indicates that the employee agrees with their time and attendance record. The red X indicates that the employee disagrees with their record.

Dayforce shows these icons next to the employee’s name. When you hover over the icon in the timesheet, Dayforce shows a tooltip with any comments that were submitted along with the employee’s response.

Add/edit shift dialog box icons
Icon Description
Position icon.

The position associated with the shift.

Note: This icon appears only when position management is configured in your Dayforce instance.

Location icon. The location associated with the shift.
Job icon. The job associated with the shift.
Pay code icon. The pay code associated with the shift.
Project icon. The project associated with the shift.
Docket icon. The docket associated with the shift.
Piece quantity icon. The piece quantity associated with the docket.
Meal time icon. The start and end time for meals associated with the shift.
Break time icon. The start and end time for breaks associated with the shift.
Breaks taken icon. The number of breaks taken during the shift.
Transfer icon. Transfers associated with the shift.

Note: Depending on how your instance of Dayforce is configured, these dialog boxes might also contain fields for labor metrics that you can associate with a shift. Labor metrics are marked by unique icons that are customized by your organization.

Time away from work indicators
Icon Description
Holiday icon. Indicates that the day is a holiday. If configured to do so, Dayforce also shows a holiday hours estimate in the cell. See Main Settings in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.
