The Vacation Bidding Sessions Subfeature

In Vacation Bidding > Vacation Bidding Sessions, you add, edit, and delete the vacation bidding sessions for your locations:

List of vacation bidding sessions, with details such as Session Status and Session Type shown.

Dayforce shows a list of vacation bidding sessions that have already been configured. This read-only list shows the details for each vacation bidding session, including the vacation bidding group, calendar, session type, and period associated with the session.

When you click Add, Dayforce opens the Vacation Bidding Session Wizard where you set up a new vacation bidding session through several configuration screens. After you’ve completed your configuration, the application adds the vacation bidding session to the read-only list.

You can edit the settings of a vacation bidding session by selecting it in the list and clicking Edit. Dayforce opens the same wizard that’s shown when you add a new session, where you can edit the session’s settings as needed. To delete a vacation bidding session, select it in the list and click Delete. To complete the deletion, click Save.

Note: Depending on the status of a vacation bidding session, you can edit only some of its details. See Edit Vacation Bidding Sessions.

If configured for your organization, the Reprocess button might be available in the toolstrip. This button is grayed out and unavailable until you select a vacation bidding session with the Error session status shown in the list:

Cursor hovering over the Reprocess button and a session with the Error status highlighted.

Role feature access: Vacation Bidding > Vacation Bidding Sessions > Reprocess

To determine what’s causing the error, do one of the following:

  • In the list of vacation bidding sessions, select the session with the Error status and click the Problems panel.
  • Go to Vacation BiddingBidding Dashboard and load the session with errors. In this subfeature, Dayforce shows more details about the vacation bidding session as it progresses, including error details. See The Bidding Dashboard Subfeature.

After you resolve the issue, click Reprocess. Dayforce runs the Vacation Bidding Session Processing background job to recalculate the bids that caused errors. The Session Status field for the session also updates to Reprocess. Click Refresh to review the status of the session and to make sure that the error is fixed.
