In the Table View tab, Dayforce summarizes the employee’s balance information based on the effective period your configured in the Tracer Filter section. This information is shown in two sections: Employee Information and Balance Events.
Employee Information
In the Employee Information section, Dayforce summarizes the employee’s information, including their name, their employment status, and their employee number. This section also contains additional fields if you made selections in the Additional Employee Information drop-down list in the Tracer Filter section. If necessary, you can still make selections using the Additional Employee Information setting to populate this section.
Additionally, this section contains information about the balance you selected, including its name, its unit type, the period it was loaded for, the entitlement policy it belongs to, and the policy’s effective start date.
Balance Events
In the Balance Events section, Dayforce shows each balance transaction that exists for the employee within the period that you loaded. Dayforce shows system-generated transactions, such as entitlement accruals, and user-generated transactions, such as balance increments that were initiated by a manager:
Dayforce specifies the transaction type in the Source column.
| Source Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Balance period initial value |
The initial balance value that’s available at the start of the balance period (typically January 1). In some cases, the Balance period initial value source is selectable as a hyperlink. If you click the hyperlink, Dayforce adds an additional tab to the slide-out panel called Detail View and opens it by default. You can view the event’s details in this tab. See The Detailed View Tab. |
| Balance period end value |
The balance that’s left over at the end of the balance period. If your entitlement policy is configured with end-date functionality for balance periods, these balance events will be triggered by the system. For end-date balance events that are automatically triggered by Dayforce, the Balance period end value source is selectable as a hyperlink to open the Detail View tab. If the balance event involves the end of a balance period that was manually initiated by a user, the Balance period end value source isn’t a hyperlink and you can’t click it to view the event’s details. |
| Entitlement |
The system-generated transactions that were initiated based on the employee’s entitlement policy configuration. You can click Entitlement to view in the Detail View tab how Dayforce generated the balance transaction using the rules and qualifiers configured in the employee’s entitlement policy. Important: The Entitlement option is selectable as a hyperlink only if you have access to the Pay Setup > Entitlements > Entitlement Definitions role feature. |
| Filter period start date | The start date of the duration you specified in the Tracer Filter section. |
| Import | The balance transactions that were imported into Dayforce. |
| RestAPI | The balance transactions initiated by RESTful web services. |
| Time off request | The balance transactions initiated by a time away request made by the employee. |
| Timesheet | The balance transactions initiated by a pay adjustment in a timesheet feature. |
| User | The user-generated balance transactions, such as time away requests and balance increments or decrements that were initiated by the employee’s manager. |
