The Entitlement Policy Ruleset

In the Entitlement Hierarchy sidebar, Dayforce shows all of the rules and qualifiers in the employee’s entitlement policy ruleset. This sidebar also shows information about the entitlement policy itself and the entitlement that controls the balance you’re analyzing:

Entitlement Hierarchy sidebar showing the entitlement policy, rules, qualifiers, and more.

The rows in the sidebar are organized hierarchically, starting with the entitlement policy:

  • Entitlement Policy: The employee’s entitlement policy.
    • Entitlement: The entitlement that drives the balance you selected in the Balance Name drop-down list in the Tracer Filter section.
      • Ruleset: The ruleset configured for the entitlement policy.
        • Rules: The rules in the entitlement policy ruleset, respecting the order of the ruleset hierarchy. Click a rule and Dayforce shows any changes to the employee’s balance that the rule initiated in the Output section.
          • Qualifiers: Any qualifier associated with a single rule in the entitlement policy ruleset.
        • Qualifiers: The qualifiers associated with the entire hierarchy of rules in the ruleset. If available, these qualifiers determine whether the entire hierarchy of rules qualify and should run.

Dayforce shows icons beside each rule and qualifier in the sidebar. These icons indicate whether the rule or qualifier is active and if a rule affected the employee’s balance:
