The Analyze Pay Rules Panel

The Analyze Pay Rules slide-out panel is divided into two tabs: the Tracer and Advanced Audit tabs. For more information on the Advanced Audit tab, see View Audit Information.

The Tracer tab is divided into four main sections.

Sections in the Tracer tab
Section Description
Top of the panel Dayforce shows the name of the employee whose pay summary is loaded and the pay summary’s date. In this section, you can also change the pay summary view by selecting an option in the View drop-down list and clicking Recalculate. On the far right side of this section, Dayforce shows details about the loaded pay summary, including the name of the employee’s pay policy, the loaded date, and your organization’s business day alignment (BDA) configuration.
Left side of the panel Dayforce shows the ruleset panel, which contains a list of each rule and qualifier in the employee’s pay policy. The panel also contains a filter that, when applied, narrows down the results in the list. See The Ruleset Panel and Filter Rules.
Center of the panel

The Breakdown subtab and the Output and After All Rules sections show a summary of the employee’s earnings before and after Dayforce processes their pay through the pay rule engine. See Pay Rule Summaries.

The Audit subtab is available after you select a rule or qualifier in the ruleset panel. In this subtab, you can view changes that were made to individual rules or qualifiers, if available. See View Audit Information.

Right side of the panel Dayforce shows the Show Rule and Qualifier Details switch. When a rule or qualifier is selected in the ruleset panel and you click this switch, Dayforce shows the selected rule or qualifier’s details in a new panel. See Rule and Qualifier Details.

After you’ve loaded an expanded pay summary, you can select a different employee in the Employee drop-down list to view an analysis of their pay for the same date. To view the selected employee’s status and policy information in their employee profile in People, click the employee profile icon ().

You can specify a different date in the As Of Date field to view an expanded pay summary for that date. To do so, click the As Of Date field and select a date in the calendar. To view an expanded pay summary for the current date, click Today in the top right corner of the calendar:

Calendar with the cursor hovering over the Today option.

Dayforce applies the following highlighting to calendar dates:

  • The selected pay summary date is bolded with a light blue circle.
  • The current date is shown in orange and underlined.

In the screenshot above, a manager selected December 14 to view the expanded pay summary for that date. The date on which the manager accessed this expanded pay summary is December 29.

After selecting a new date, click Recalculate. Dayforce shows the expanded pay summary for the date you specified. You can also select an alternate view option in the View drop-down list to change how the employee’s pay summary is shown. See Pay Summary Views.
