In the Task Recurrence tab of Task Setup > Task Templates, select the type of recurrence that tasks created from this template have in the Recurrence drop-down list:
- Never: Occur only once.
- Daily: Recur on a daily basis. This isn’t necessarily every day. For example, you could set tasks to repeat every 4 days.
- Weekly: Recur on a weekly basis, such as on Monday every other week.
- Monthly: Recur on a monthly basis, such as the 15th of every month.
- Yearly: Recur on a yearly basis.
Other than Never, each recurrence basis requires additional configuration.
Daily
If you selected Daily:
- In the Recurs Every field, specify the number of days in which tasks created from the template recur. With a value of 1, tasks recur every day.
- In the Create Task Recurrence field, specify how many days before the start date of every recurrence of the task Dayforce creates the task. For example, if the task recurs every three days, and its initial start date was January 10, then for the next recurrence of the task, its start date is January 12. With a value of 1 in the Create Task Recurrence field, Dayforce creates the next task on January 11 with a start date of January 12.
- In the Starts On field, specify when the recurrence starts.
- In the Ends section:
- Select Never and Dayforce continues to create recurrences of tasks created from this template according to its recurrence settings.
- Select Until and Dayforce continues to create recurrences until the date you specify in the field.
- Select After and Dayforce stops creating recurrences after the number of occurrences you specify in the Occurrences field is reached.

- In the Recurs On section, select on which days of the week Dayforce recreates the task using the appropriate checkboxes.
- In the Create Task Recurrence field, specify how many days before the start date of every recurrence of the task Dayforce creates the task. - In the Starts On field, specify when the recurrence starts.
- In the Ends section:
-
- Select Never and Dayforce continues to create recurrences of tasks created from this template according to its recurrence settings.
- Select Until and Dayforce continues to create recurrences until the date you specify in the field.
- Select After and Dayforce stops creating recurrences after the number of occurrences you specify in the Occurrences field is reached.

If you selected Monthly:
- In the Recurs Every field, specify the number of months in which tasks created from the template recur. With a value of 1, tasks recur every month.
- In the Recurs By section:
- Select Days of the Month and tasks are repeated based on their start date, so a task created with a start date of the 12th always recurs on the 12th.
- Select Days of the Week and the recurrence uses the day of the week of the task’s start date, so a task with a start date that falls on a Saturday always recurs on a Saturday.
- In the Create Task Recurrence field, specify how many days before the start date of every recurrence of the task Dayforce creates the task. For example, if the task recurs every month, on the second Saturday, a value of 1 in the Create Task Recurrence field means Dayforce creates the task on the second Friday of every month.
- In the Starts On field, specify when the recurrence starts.
- In the Ends section:
