Shift Marketplace Shift Display in Timesheets

In Timesheets, you can set whether Dayforce shows Shift Marketplace employees. After you load a location, click Options and in the General Options section, select the Display Scheduled Shift Marketplace Employees checkbox. When this checkbox is selected, Dayforce shows the following types of employees in the timesheets grid:

  • Employees who work at the location on a primary work assignment. These employees are shown by default and are unaffected by the Display Scheduled Shift Marketplace Employees checkbox.
  • Employees who work at the location on a secondary work assignment. These employees are shown by default and are unaffected by the Display Scheduled Shift Marketplace Employees checkbox.
  • Shift Marketplace employees (that is, employees with a secondary work assignment in People with the Shift Marketplace checkbox selected), but only if they have a shift. Dayforce grays out Shift Marketplace employees that don’t have a shift.

When this checkbox is cleared, Dayforce shows all standard and Shift Marketplace employees in the timesheets grid, regardless if the Shift Marketplace employees have shifts or not.

Access and configuration:

  • Role authorization access:
    • Pay Adjustments
    • Timesheet Data
  • Client properties: Scheduling > Shift Marketplace (Select the checkbox)
  • In System Admin > Client Properties, it’s recommended that your organization enables the Show all orgs for employee client property so that managers can make changes to an employee’s timesheet, even if the managers don’t have location access to the employee’s location. See Timesheet in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.

Dayforce marks Shift Marketplace employees in the Employees column with the Shift Marketplace icon, and grays out their timesheets cells because the manager doesn’t have access to the employee:

Timesheet row with Monday and Wednesday grayed out, and a shift on Tuesday.

Note: Depending on your Dayforce configuration, some Shift Marketplace employees might not have their timesheets grayed out. If an employee has two work assignments at the loaded location and one is a Shift Marketplace work assignment, Dayforce marks them with the Shift Marketplace icon but doesn’t gray out their timesheet cells. Because they have a non-Shift Marketplace work assignment, the location’s manager can still create time and attendance records for them using the non-Shift Marketplace work assignment. This behavior can apply even in grayed out timesheet cells, depending on your organization’s access authorization and location access configuration.

The system also marks shifts with this icon to indicate that they were picked up in Shift Marketplace:
