Scheduled Shifts

Dayforce represents each scheduled shift in the Schedules Bar View by a colored line that stretches from the shift’s start time to its end time. The shift’s label shows the employee assigned to work it and the job that they perform during their shift.

In this example, Margaret is scheduled to work as a Baker from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM:

Dayforce color codes shifts by zone so that you can visually identify where your scheduled employees are working:

Two employees with shifts in Assembly 2 and one in Assembly 1.

For example, shifts in the Assembly 1 zone are maroon and shifts in the Assembly 2 zone are green. At a glance, you can see if your schedule has an inappropriate mix of staffed jobs: a schedule with too many green shifts one morning probably needs to be adjusted.

You can also filter your schedules by zone so that Dayforce shows only shifts scheduled in the selected zone.

Dayforce marks scheduled breaks with a coffee mug icon. The icon’s size corresponds to the break’s length. It stretches from the break’s start time to its end time, just like a shift. In this example, Aaron’s break is 15 minutes longer than Casey’s:
