The General Options section has settings that control how Dayforce shows schedules.
Before You Begin: Depending on how Dayforce is configured, some of these options might be unavailable.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Autoload on Start (Schedules only) | Load the upcoming schedule instead of selecting a week and clicking Load. |
| Reallocate meals and breaks on schedule edits | Automatically reschedule, add, or remove meals and breaks when edits to shifts cause the meals and breaks to change. Based on the employee’s time entry policy rules, they might need to have a meal or break at certain intervals. If the shift length changes because of your edits, Dayforce automatically reallocates the required break. For example, if you edit a three-hour shift, which originally didn’t receive a break, so that it’s now six hours long, Dayforce automatically adds a 30-minute meal. Or, if an employee has a break in the last hour of their shift, and you reduce the shift’s duration by an hour, Dayforce moves the break (if the shift still qualifies for it) so that it no longer starts at the end of the shift. |
| Automatically select an activity for schedule | Automatically add the primary activity associated with the shift’s job assignment. |
| View totals in hours:minutes | Show totals as hours and minutes, rather than a decimal value (for example, 37:30). When you clear this checkbox, Dayforce shows totals in decimal format (for example, 37.50). |
| Indicate Minor Status | Show the minor icon ( |
| Indicate Shared Employees | Show the shared employee icon ( |
| Enable real time calculations | Dayforce runs real time calculations and performs schedule validation whenever you make changes to scheduled shifts. Dayforce enables the Recalculate button only when you open the Cost or KPI panels and make changes to the schedule. Clear the checkbox and Dayforce doesn’t run real time calculations. Dayforce performs schedule validation only when you click Recalculate or Save. |
| Enable Paging |
Client properties: Scheduling > Enable paging (Select the checkbox) Show employee records across separate pages rather than on a single screen. You can use paging functionality only in the Schedules Grid View. When selected, the other view options are grayed out until you clear the checkbox. When paging is enabled in Schedules, the following changes occur:
