Time and attendance records are typically based on your employees’ clock entries, which can be adjusted before they’re shown in the Timesheets feature, depending on the time entry policy. Typically, clock entries are rounded to the nearest interval, such as a quarter hour. If an employee clocks in at 8:44 AM, it’s automatically rounded to 8:45 AM and shown on the timesheet as 8:45 AM.
You can review the unadjusted clock entries, called raw clock entries, in the Clock Data panel of Timesheets. Continuing the example above: the clock entry at 8:44 AM is the raw clock entry. Because raw clock entries are never adjusted or altered, they’re often the definitive record of an employee’s clock entry times.
Role feature access: Timesheets > View Raw Clock Entries
If you use a Dayforce Touch Clock with picture capture, Dayforce might also be configured to show the employee’s clock picture and their stock picture, for comparison.
Before you view an employee’s raw clock entries, you need to load the timesheet for the relevant week. See Load Timesheets.
To view an employee’s raw clock entries in Timesheets, select the employee and then click the Clock Data tab. The Clock Data panel shows all of the clock entry data Dayforce has received for the employee on the selected week:
Dayforce shows the following information, if applicable, in the Clock Data panel:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Clock Entry Time | The date and time stamp of the clock entry. |
| Clock Entry Type | The type of clock entry the employee performed, such as start-shift or meal-end. |
| Original Clock Entry Type | The clock entry type before any processing was performed. This is relevant only when Dayforce is configured to treat in and out clock entries as meal or break start and end clock entries. |
| Clock Entry State | Whether the clock entry has been processed by Dayforce. |
| Offline | When checked, the clock entry was “offline,” which means that the clock couldn’t communicate with Dayforce at the time the clock entry was made. |
| Validated | When checked, the clock entry was validated and passed. Dayforce can be configured to validate certain clock entries against a variety of checks, such as the amount of time an employee can clock in early. |
| Device | The MAC address (a unique identifier) of the clock device the employee used to perform the clock entry. |
| Badge | The badge number of the employee that performed the clock entry. |
| Supervisor Badge | The badge number of the supervisor who performed the clock entry on the employee’s behalf, if applicable. |
| Supervisor Name | The name of the supervisor who performed the clock entry on the employee’s behalf, if applicable. |
| Processed Time | The time the clock entry was processed by Dayforce. |
| Rejected Time | If the clock entry was rejected, Dayforce shows the time of rejection. |
| Rejected Code | The reason why the clock entry was rejected. |
| Additional Data | A string of data that’s associated with the clock entry, if applicable. For example, “LTC” denotes a location transfer code when a work transfer is performed, while “TT” denotes the tip type used when you recorded tips and clocked out. See Additional Clock Entry Data. |
| Comments | The comment that’s associated with the clock entry, if available. |
| Clock Entry Origin | The clock device type that the clock entry was performed on. For example, if an employee clocked in using the self-service clock in Dayforce, this field is marked Time Clock. If an employee clocked in using a Dayforce Touch Clock, this field is marked Dayforce Touch. |
Clock and Stock Pictures
Additionally, if your organization uses the Dayforce Touch Clock with picture capture, Dayforce might be configured to show employees’ clock pictures and stock pictures in the Clock Data panel.
Role feature access: Timesheets > View Raw Clock Entries > View Clocking Picture > View Stock Picture
An employee’s clock picture is the picture that was captured when they performed the clock entry, while the stock picture is the one that was captured when they enrolled for picture capture. When both pictures are shown, you can compare them to ensure that the correct employee performed the clock entry:
