Review Time and Attendance

The Timesheets feature provides a summary of your employees’ time and attendance records. These records show when and where employees worked compared to when they were scheduled. It uses icons to label absences and other situations, like when an employee works a shift that they weren’t scheduled for.

This section describes how to use the timesheet to review time and attendance records for a week, the meanings of the different icons used to label your time and attendance records, and the other information available on the timesheet, like problems, exceptions, pay summaries, and raw clock entries.

The main tasks involved with reviewing your time and attendance are as follows:

  1. Loading the timesheet for the week you want to review. See Load Timesheets.
  2. Following the timesheet legend to see which employees were absent, who recorded work when they weren’t scheduled, and whose worked shifts didn't match their schedule. See Timesheet Icons.
  3. Reviewing problems and exceptions. See Review Problems and Exceptions.

Note: Typically, time and attendance records are reviewed and corrected on a weekly basis. As a result, this guide frequently refers to reviewing records for one week at a time. However, depending on how Dayforce is configured, records might be loaded by pay period instead.
