You can save shifts as templates in Schedules and Centralized Schedules and use them to quickly build your schedule. There are different types of templates.
| Template | Description |
|---|---|
| Single |
Individual shift template. Typically, you use them when you need to schedule the same individual shifts in different weeks, but not necessarily in the same pattern. For example, if you need to schedule 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM shifts for the Bakery Clerk job assignment but don’t need to schedule the same number of shifts week to week. When you save a single-type template, it might also be available for other users who create and manage schedules, depending on the template’s configuration and how your organization is set up. |
| Multiple | Multiple shift template. These templates are available only to the user who created them and for the location that they were created for. Typically, you can use them when you need to schedule the same shifts in the same pattern in different weeks. For example, if you need to schedule six 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM shifts and four 5:00 AM to 10:00 AM shifts in the bakery department every Saturday. |
| Multi-Week | (Centralized Schedules only): Multi-week shift template. These templates are available only when you enable the Weekly View. |
| Fixed |
Note: Fixed templates are configured in Scheduling Plan > Templates. They’re not available to configure within Schedules or Centralized Schedules. Fixed shift template. These templates combine a number of shift definitions with job assignments and arrange them into a standard pattern that you can apply to any schedule at any of the locations that are configured for the template. See Generate Schedules from Templates and Fixed Schedule Templates in the Dayforce Implementation Guide. |
