Location Daily Properties (Schedules only)

Location daily properties are measurable properties of locations within an organization that you can create for specific locations and use with task management and labor planning. They’re helpful in situations where activity demand times vary from location to location.

When location daily properties are configured for a location in Org Setup > Locations, you can access and edit location daily property values for their stores, and add, edit, copy, and delete temporary location daily property values for their stores in Schedules > Location Daily Properties.

To filter properties, use the buttons at the top of the Location Daily Properties panel.

Role feature access: Schedules > Location Daily Property

Add Temporary Location Daily Properties

To add temporary location daily properties:

  1. Go to Schedules and load a schedule.
  2. Click Location Daily Properties and then click Add.
  3. In the Select Location Daily Property dialog box:
    1. In the Location Daily Property drop-down list, select a property
    2. Click Temp.
    3. Click OK.
  4. In the dialog box that opens, configure the temporary location daily properties.
  5. Click OK.

Edit Default or Temporary Location Daily Properties

To edit default or temporary location daily properties:

  1. Go to Schedules and load a schedule.
  2. Click Location Daily Properties.
  3. Click a day and then click the edit icon next to the location daily property that you want to edit.
  4. In the dialog box that opens, modify the values and click OK.
  5. Note: To inactivate a value, clear the appropriate checkbox. When you clear the checkboxes for the entire week, the location daily property appears when you apply the All or Inactive filters in the Location Daily Properties panel.
  6. If the location daily property is time-based, you can modify its start and end times. To do so, click the edit icon.
  7. In the dialog box that opens, modify the values:
  8. Edit dialog box for a time-based location daily property.
  9. In the screenshot above, the “Bakeoff 2” property has a mix of offset and fixed times. Monday, Thursday, and Friday use fixed times. Tuesday uses offset times and Wednesday, Sunday, and Saturday aren’t enabled. In the Start Time section, click Offset to change a day’s start time from Fixed to Offset. Dayforce replaces the start time fields for fixed time with the controls for setting offset times (it leaves the end time as-is, because you edit start and end times separately).
  10. Click OK.

Refresh Labor

After you’ve finished adding or editing location daily property values, you can click the Refresh Labor button to modify your labor curve in the Bar View based on your changes. The Refresh Labor button performs the same function as when you click Publish Plan in the Plan feature. See Plan For Your Location.

If your organization has labor deployment rules configured that refresh the location daily properties of a site, you can update the site’s location daily property values in this panel and click Refresh Labor. By doing this, you don’t have to go to the Plan feature to republish the plan, instead performing the same function in Schedules.

Note: You can also use the Refresh Labor button to generate labor data, even if you haven’t added or edited location daily properties.

To refresh your labor:

  1. Go to Schedules and load a schedule.
  2. Click Location Daily Properties and add or edit location daily property values, as needed.
  3. Click Refresh Labor.
