Link Shifts with Segments to the Schedule

To link shifts with segments to the schedule:

  1. Go to Timesheets.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Add an unscheduled, worked shift (indicated by a yellow circle icon ) on the same day that a scheduled, unworked shift (indicated by a red circle icon ) exists. After adding the shift, select the scheduled, unworked shift and then press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard and select the unscheduled, worked shift:
    • Timesheet with a scheduled, unworked shift and an unscheduled, worked shift on the same day.
    • Click the arrow next to the edit icon to expand the edit drop-down list, and then click Link Shift to Schedule.
    • Alternatively, click the arrow on a cell containing a scheduled, unworked shift and select Add Shift to Schedule.
  3. The segment editor opens, showing the shift details.
  4. Edit the shift’s details, as necessary. You can edit any details marked with the Actual type.
  5. If you edit the worked start and end times of the shift or the duration of segments, meals, or breaks, Dayforce automatically adds a tardy code to mark early and late time entries:
  6. Schedule segment dialog box with tardy information next to late time entries.
  7. Click OK. Dayforce marks the shift with the green circle icon () to indicate that the shift was scheduled and worked.
