You can edit only some settings for canceled vacation bidding sessions. The availability of some settings depends on whether the canceled session contains submission rounds in the future.
You can also reactivate a canceled vacation bidding session if a new submission period was added to the calendar that’s associated with the session.
To edit or reactivate a canceled vacation bidding session:
- Go to Vacation Bidding > Vacation Bidding Sessions.
- In the list of vacation bidding sessions, select a session that’s marked Canceled in the Session Status field.
- Click Edit. Dayforce opens a wizard that contains the session’s details.
- In the Vacation Bidding Session Details screen, update the following settings as needed:
- Name
- Description
- Auto-Approve
- Display Temporary Closures on Bidding Calendar
- Note: The Vacation Bidding Group and Session Type settings are grayed out and unavailable when you edit a canceled session. Also, the Auto-Approve and Display Temporary Closures on Bidding Calendar settings might be grayed out and unavailable if the canceled session doesn’t contain any submission rounds in the future.
- Click Next. Dayforce shows the Select Calendar Period and Limits screen, which contains settings that can’t be edited.
- Click Next.
- In the Select Rounds screen, click the Include checkbox to add any new submission rounds to the session that were recently added to the calendar period (if available). Click Refresh if a newly-created round isn’t shown in the list.
- Click Next.
- In the Verify Employee List screen, edit the following settings for any future rounds that are included in the session, or any rounds that you added in step 7:
- To manually edit the employee bidding order, select names in the list and click the Move Up and Move Down buttons to edit the hierarchy.
- To exclude employees from the bidding round, select the Exclude Employee checkboxes for each employee.
- Click Next.
- If you’re editing a concurrent vacation bidding session that was canceled, skip ahead to step 13.
- If you’re editing a sequential vacation bidding session that was canceled, Dayforce shows the Sequential Bidding Configuration screen.
- Edit the following settings for any new rounds that you added or for future rounds that are included in the session:
- In the Details panel, edit the dates in the Bidding Window Start and Bidding Window End fields.
- Note: The Bidding Window Start date can’t be earlier than the first submission round’s start date, and the Bidding Window End date can’t be later than the final submission round’s end date.
- Edit the times in the Earliest Start and Latest End fields.
- Specify a different time increment value in the Time Increment field.
- Select an alternative time unit in the Unit drop-down list.
- Select or clear the checkboxes in the Days of Week section.
- In the Employee List section, click the appropriate Bidding Window Start field to edit the bidding window start date and time. To edit the bidding window end date and time, click the appropriate Bidding Window End field.
- Alternatively, click the Generate button and select Generate for current round or Generate for all rounds. These functions populate the bidding window start and end fields using the default settings that you configured in the Details panel.
- Click Next.
- In the Review Configuration and Complete screen, review the vacation bidding session details that you’ve edited and do one of the following:
- If you’re satisfied with the session details, click Finish.
- If you want to continue editing the session’s details, click Previous until you reach the details that you want to edit.
If you added a new submission round to the canceled session, Dayforce assigns the Pending status to the round. Alternatively, if you added a new submission round and configured it to begin on the current date, Dayforce assigns the Active status to the round.
