Task index templates allow you to dynamically allocate budgeted hours to locations based on a static task index value. For example, you could specify that each location receives 25% of the budgeted hours for every assigned task. After configuration, you can select the appropriate task index template when you create a task or a task template, and Dayforce automatically assigns the appropriate locations to the task and allocates the correct number of budgeted hours to each.
You define task index templates in Task Setup > Task Index Templates.
Task index values can be configured in one of two ways:
- By location. When you configure a task index value by location, you must specify which locations the task index template applies to, and what the index value is for each location.
- By location property. When you configure task index values by location property, you don’t have to specify the index values for individual locations. Instead, you define the index values for location properties, and Dayforce applies the appropriate index value to any location that has been assigned that property.
