Contact Employees Using the Call-In List

If an employee doesn’t clock in at their shift’s scheduled start time, you can call in or page other employees to work a no show shift.

Role authorization access: SMS Call-in Functionality from Timesheet

For example, Maggie’s shift started at 9:00 AM. However, at 9:30 AM she still hasn’t clocked in for work. Dayforce shows the shift as a scheduled, unworked shift in Timesheets:

Scheduled, unworked shift in the timesheets grid.

You can call or page eligible employees to work a no show shift on the timesheet.

To notify employees of an available shift:

  1. Go to Timesheets and load a location.
  2. Select a cell and then click the arrow next to the add shift to schedule icon () to expand the drop-down list.
  3. Click Call In List.
  4. In the dialog box that opens, select the checkbox in the Send column next to the employees to whom you want to send a SMS message, informing them that there’s a shift available for them to work.
  5. Note: If an employee is a call-in candidate but doesn’t have a mobile or business mobile phone number configured in their HR record, Dayforce still shows their name in the dialog box. However, in this scenario, the checkbox in the Send column is replaced with a missing phone number icon ().
  6. Click Send SMS.

Depending on the unfilled shift’s status on the timesheet, Dayforce might show the call-in list icon () rather than the add shift to schedule icon when you select the cell:

When an employee accepts an unfilled shift, both the employee and the employee’s manager receive an SMS message confirming their acceptance.
