Operational templates control how Dayforce loads and then groups shifts in Centralized Schedules. Each grouping works like a filter so that you can quickly load, view, and schedule employees. For example, you could create an operational template that loads employees based on location and then groups shifts by department, then job. When you load that operational template, you can select the relevant locations to load and then the departments and jobs from those locations to group by.
Role feature access: Schedule Setup > Schedule Setup > Operational Templates
You configure operational templates In Schedule Setup > Operational Templates. In the Details tab, you can customize each template’s groupings so that you can load schedules based on specific work or employee details.
You can configure the following grouping types:
- Jobs
- Projects
- Labor metrics
- Departments
- Dockets
- Shift times
- Activities
- Zones
If you select Project, Labor Metric, or Shift Times, you must select an option in the Entity drop-down list to specify the project or labor metric type, or shift time group that you want to group your schedules by. When you load Centralized Schedules using the grouping, you can choose from the project or labor metric codes, or shift time group associated with the type that you selected. You can also select colors for groupings to make them easier to see.
In the Permissions tab, you configure role, user, and location access for your operational templates. Specify the roles, users, and locations that can use the operational template when they load schedules.
