Comments Report

The Comments Report in Timesheets shows any comments that employees and managers made in timesheets within the specified period. It also includes pay details for the days with comments.

Comments Report settings
Setting Description
Organization The location or group of locations to include in the report. To report on the entire organization, select the top organizational unit.
Date

Select a date option:

  • Today: Include records only from today.
  • Yesterday: Include records from yesterday.
  • Selected Week: Select a week to include in the report.
  • Date Range: Enter a start and end date for the date range to include in the report.
  • Pay Group: Select a pay group and pay period to include in the report.
Include unpaid hours Dayforce includes records for unpaid hours.
Include unpaid hours in total

Dayforce adds any unpaid time to the report totals.

Show hours in full precision Dayforce doesn’t round decimal places. Clear the checkbox and Dayforce rounds the values to two decimal places.
Show hours in HH:MM Dayforce shows times as hours and minutes, rather than as a decimal value.
Show Detail in the summary

Dayforce shows each average rate in a separate row.

By default, this checkbox is cleared and Dayforce shows the average rate in cases where pay details share the same pay code, pay category, and job, but have different rates.

Report Level

The levels of detail for the report:

  • Employee Daily Details: Include details from the employee’s day, including the times that the employee clocked in and out, their department, and jobs they worked throughout the day
  • Employee Summary: Summarize timesheets with any employee comments. The report summarizes the number of hours on the timesheet against each pay code and pay category.
Employees

To include all employees in the report, select All Employees.

To report on only one employee, select Selected Employee. If you select this option, click Choose Employee and Dayforce shows the Search dialog box where you can narrow your employee selection with several filters.

Status The employment statuses to report on. The report only includes employees with one of the selected statuses.
Pay Type The pay types to report on. The report only includes employees with one of the selected pay types.
Pay Code The pay codes to report on. The report only includes time with one of the selected pay codes.
Pay Category The pay categories to report on. The report only includes time in one of the selected pay categories.
Sort By Sort the records by first name, last name, or employee number.
Group By Group the records by department, employee, zone, or organization.
Description The report description. Dayforce shows the description next to the file name in Message Center.
Format The format for the report file. You can generate the report in Excel or PDF format.
