Bid Calendar

You can also access the bid calendar slide-out panel by clicking the arrow icon () on the upper right side of the screen.

After you click the arrow icon to access the bid calendar, Dayforce shows an employee search field above the calendar:

Bid calendar slide-out panel with the search field expanded, showing a list of employees.

When you click the employee search field, Dayforce shows all of the employees who are included in the vacation bidding session in a drop-down list. You can search for an employee by name or employee number to narrow down the results. Alternatively, you can manually select an employee in the list.

After you select an employee, Dayforce updates the calendar to highlight the dates that they’ve requested off and the status of their requested vacation days:

Bid calendar after an employee is selected, showing their approved and denied bids in green and red.

Above the calendar, Dayforce shows vacation bidding information for the selected employee, including their primary job assignment and their rank in the bidding order for the selected round. Also, if the employee was assigned to a vacation bidding subgroup, Dayforce shows their subgroup assignment:

Selected employee's details including their bidding rank, sub-group, and job assignment.

For each calendar cell, Dayforce shows the total number of available vacation bidding slots for the day above the Available label, regardless of the bidding round status. However, depending on the status of the vacation bidding round, Dayforce shows different bid statuses in the calendar. The application shows the number of vacation bids (along with their bid status) in the calendar cells using the following logic:

Dayforce might mark calendar cells to indicate which days are paid holidays, depending on your Dayforce configuration:

Calendar cell containing the holiday icon, with a tooltip indicating the holiday is Veteran's Day.

The application shows the holiday icon () only when you select an employee to view their bid requests in the calendar. Additionally, the selected employee must be assigned to a holiday group with the appropriate holidays configured. Dayforce shows the icon only when a holiday falls within the eligible period that employees can bid on for vacation. For example, say you configure a vacation bidding session where employees can bid for time away on dates between December 1 to December 15. Your organization has annual paid holidays on December 25 (Christmas Day) and December 26 (Boxing Day). Because these holidays aren’t eligible for bidding in the session, the holiday icon isn’t shown on the calendar cells for these dates.

In the calendar, you can click a specific day and Dayforce shows a window with all available bid information for that day, including bids from other employees:

Bid summary for June 2, showing bids from three employees and the bid statuses.

To remove the employee’s bids from the calendar and to return to the default calendar view, click Select None in the employee search field.
