When the worked shifts on the timesheet accurately represent when your employees worked, and the pay details are correct, you can authorize the shifts to indicate that you reviewed the records and that they’re accurate. You can also unauthorize shifts.
Role feature access:
- Timesheets > Timesheet Authorize
- Timesheets > Timesheet Unauthorize
To authorize timesheets in Timesheets, select the shift or shifts that you want to authorize and then click Authorize in the toolstrip. After you click Authorize, the Manager Authorization icon () appears on the authorized shifts. To unauthorize a shift, click Unauthorize.

Press and hold the Ctrl key down and select several shifts:

After you authorize shifts and click Save, Dayforce marks the selected records as authorized, which means that the worked time has been approved. Authorization isn’t the same as approving pay for the employees, which is part of the payroll process in Dayforce. See Approve Payroll.
