Attach Supporting Documents to Time Away Requests

Depending on how Dayforce is configured, you might be able to attach files to your employees’ time away from work requests. When this functionality is available, the Supporting Documents section appears when you create a time away request.

The Supporting Documents section appears even if the employee that you’re creating a request for isn’t assigned access to TAFW attachments. In this scenario, Dayforce shows a message indicating that there are no valid document types configured for the employee and you can’t attach any documents to the request. To avoid this, your system administrator or another user with access must assign the employee role access to the TAFW Attachments document type in Documents > Admin > Document Types. See the Document Management Guide.

To attach files to an employee’s time away from work request:

  1. In the Supporting Documents section, click Upload Files.
  2. In the Upload Files dialog box that opens, click Browse for file(s) and use your browser’s file explorer to select the files. You can also drag and drop files into the file window.
  3. Click Upload. When all of the files upload successfully, the dialog box closes. Dayforce shows the uploaded files in the Supporting Documents section:
  4. Support Documents section containing one attachment.
