Assign Vacation Bidding Ranks to Employees in People

To use a customized employee sort order for vacation bidding, you must assign an employee property to the appropriate employees in the People feature. When a bidding policy is configured with the Vacation Bidding Rank sort order, Dayforce uses the Vacation Bidding Rank employee property, configured in People in the Employment > Employee Properties screen, to dictate the employee bidding order.

If an employee has an active, existing vacation bidding rank property with no effective end date, Dayforce automatically assigns an effective end date to the existing property after you add a new active property. For example, if you add a new vacation bidding rank property that begins on July 24, Dayforce automatically populates the existing property’s Effective To field with the day before the new property becomes active (July 23).

To assign an employee a vacation bidding rank:

  1. Go to People, open the employee profile, and click Employment > Employee Properties.
  2. Click Add.
  3. In the Property drop-down list, select Vacation Bidding Rank.
  4. Dayforce automatically populates the Description field with the property name (that is, “Vacation Bidding Rank”).
  5. In the Effective From field, enter the date in which the vacation bidding rank is active, or click the calendar icon () and select a date.
  6. (Optional) In the Effective To field, enter the date in which the vacation bidding rank becomes inactive, or click the calendar icon and select a date.
  7. In the Value field, enter a numerical value that represents the employee’s sorting rank.
  8. Click Save.
