Approve or Deny Unfilled Shift Bids

When employees bid on unfilled shifts, you can review their bids and approve or deny them in the Manage Shift Bids panel in Schedules or Centralized Schedules. By default, all shift bids that you can review are assigned the Pending status until you approve or deny them.

Approve Unfilled Shift Bids

To approve shift bids:

  1. Go to Schedules or Centralized Schedules and load a schedule.
  2. (Centralized Schedules only) To view scheduled shifts, expand the grouping hierarchy.
  3. In the toolstrip, click Manage Shift Bids.
  4. Click the down arrow () for the unfilled shift that you want to assign.
  5. Select the checkbox next to the employee who you want to assign the shift to and click Assign. In the Bid Status column, Dayforce adds the Assign status to the employee’s bid and automatically adds the Deny status to any other bids, unless multiple unfilled shifts are available for that day.
  6. After you click Assign, the system adds the shift to the employee’s schedule. Depending on your Dayforce configuration, the system might also add the lock icon () to the shift to indicate that it’s locked:
  7. Shift in the schedules grid with the lock and edit icons.
  8. Dayforce removes this icon after you save the schedule. See Edit Posted Unfilled Shifts.
  9. Click Save.

Deny Unfilled Shift Bids

To deny shift bids:

  1. Go to Schedules or Centralized Schedules and load a schedule.
  2. (Centralized Schedules only) To view scheduled shifts, expand the grouping hierarchy.
  3. In the toolstrip, click Manage Shift Bids.
  4. Click the down arrow () for the unfilled shift that you want to approve.
  5. Select the checkbox next to the employee who’s bid you want to deny and click Deny.
  6. Click Save.
