Because KPIs are measured proportionately, Dayforce adjusts KPI values when edited and distributes them evenly among any values that feed into them. For example, if a weekly KPI value is equal to the sum of the daily values, then doubling the weekly KPI value doubles all of the daily values as well.
Before You Begin: When no edit formula is set up, Dayforce adds the ApplyRatio.<KPI> edit formula (where <KPI> is the name of the KPI you’re using) to your KPI metadata by default. If you have an edit formula set up, values might be calculated differently. See KPIs and KPI Metadata in the Dayforce Implementation Guide.
Similarly, halving a weekly KPI value also halves the daily values. Dayforce also distributes values proportionally when weekly or daily KPI values are zero. For example, say you have the following daily values for the week that add up to zero:
If you enter 1000 in the weekly field (the Sales field in the Manager Adjust column), Dayforce distributes values to the days of the week that have a value of zero (in this case, four days: Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday) so that the total value of the days adds up to 1,000. In this example, Dayforce assigns the remaining days are a value of 250, the result of 1,000/4:
In the following scenario, all of the daily values and the weekly value are zero:
After you enter a value in the weekly field (the Sales field in the Manager Adjust column), Dayforce distributes values to the days of the week that have a value of zero which, in this case, are all seven days. In this example, entering 14,000 results in the remaining days being assigned a value of 2,000, the result of 14,000/7:
