Account Effective Dates

The details for accounts in the Payroll > Direct Deposit screen of People include the Effective Start and Effective End fields. However, these fields aren't included in the Direct Deposit form or HR Import. When an account is added or removed through the Direct Deposit form or HR Import, the corresponding record is automatically assigned effective dates in the Payroll > Direct Deposit screen of People as follows:

  • When you add an account through the Direct Deposit form or HR Import, the resulting account record in the Payroll > Direct Deposit screen of People has the Effective Start field set to the date that the form was approved and processed, or that the import was completed.
  • When you remove an account through the Direct Deposit form or HR Import, Dayforce sets the effective end date of the record to one day before the date that the form was approved and processed, or that the import was completed, respectively, so that the record becomes inactive.
  • Note: When a record is removed through the Direct Deposit form or HR Import, Dayforce adds a delete action to the Audit screen of People.
  • If you add and then remove an account through the Direct Deposit form or HR Import on the same date, the Effective Start and Effective End fields in the Payroll > Direct Deposit screen of People are both assigned that date. For example, you run an HR import to add an account on March 5, 2020. You then run another HR Import on the same day to delete that account. As a result, the effective start and end dates for the record are March 5, 2020.

Also, when an account record in the Payroll > Direct Deposit screen of People is no longer active, or isn’t active until a future date, that account isn’t shown in the Direct Deposit form.
