Send Emergency Broadcast Messages

To send an emergency broadcast message:

  1. Click the message icon in the toolbar to open Message Center.
  2. Click Compose and select Emergency Broadcast in the drop-down list.
  3. In the To field, add the recipients for the emergency broadcast. See Select Recipients.
  4. Do one of the following, depending on which channels you want to send the emergency broadcast through:
    • (Australia, United Kingdom, United States, and Canada only) To send the message by text message, select the Send by SMS checkbox. The Text Message field opens for you to enter your message.
    • To send the message by email, click the Send by Email checkbox, and then select an option in the Verified Emails drop-down list. Select All Emails to send the broadcast to all email addresses that the selected employees have on file. Leave the default Verified Emails Only selected to send only to emails that have been verified.
    • If you don’t want to send a copy of the message to Message Center, clear the Message Center checkbox.
    • Note: When you select delivery options, Dayforce shows the number of recipients that can’t receive a message using the delivery method and why.
  5. Enter your message. For email and Message Center messages, you can use the text formatting controls to format your message.
  6. Select the checkbox below the message. This step is required to confirm that you understand that Dayforce might send the emergency broadcast message to nonbusiness contacts for the selected employees, based on the delivery methods.
  7. Click Send.

If any of the delivery methods have no recipients, Dayforce shows a validation message prompting you to clear the checkboxes for those delivery methods. Dayforce doesn't send the message until you clear the checkboxes. If there are no validation errors, Dayforce sends the emergency broadcast. If one of the delivery methods has a partial failure, you can either resend the broadcast for the failed delivery method only or ignore the error and go to the Sent folder to see the sent message.
