In the Succession > Succession Plans feature, you can create development plans for employees to help them prepare to take on a new role in a succession plan. Employees can have multiple succession development plans, but each of those development plans must be for a separate succession plan (that is, they can only have one development plan for each succession plan that they're assigned to).
Access and configuration:
- Role feature access: Succession > Succession Plans > Create Development Plan
- In Succession > Succession Plans, in the succession plan details, assign Edit access to users who need to add or edit development plans.
To create a development plan for an employee:
- Go to Succession > Succession Plans.
- Click a plan name to open the plan slide-out panel.
- Click Create Development Plan.
- Enter the details for the development plan. See Development Plan Detail Fields.
- Click Save to publish the plan and assign it to the employee immediately or click Save as draft to publish and assign the plan at a later date.
After you save the development plan, the development plan icon () or the draft development plan icon (
) appears next to the employee's name in the plan slide-out panel. You can click the icon to open the plan and view the details.
