In the Talent Matrix tab, you can configure talent matrices by defining the talent factors to show on the X and Y axes, labels, and additional options.
Role feature access: Succession Setup > Talent Review Setup > Talent Matrix. See Enable Succession Planning Role Features.
Note: The talent factors in your matrix must use a rating scale that has between one and five values. See Add Custom Talent Factors.
To add a talent matrix:
- Go to Succession Setup > Talent Review Setup and click the Talent Matrix tab.
- Click Add.
- In the Name field, enter a name for the talent matrix.
- In the X-axis and Y-axis fields, select a talent factor from the drop-down list to define which values to show on the horizontal and vertical axes of the talent matrix.
- When you have selected values for the axes, Dayforce shows an empty preview of the talent matrix.
- Provide a short label for each box. For example, you might label the box for high potential and high performance "Future Leader" to emphasize the value of leadership potential in your organization.
- (Optional) Provide a more detailed explanation in the Description field of each box. For example, you might want to provide criteria that managers can use to decide where to place an employee in the matrix. These descriptions are available to managers when they click the information icon next to the label for each box.
- (Optional) To customize the color of the boxes, select the Use Custom Colors checkbox. For information, see Configure Talent Matrix Colors
- (Optional) In the Additional Display Talent Factor drop-down list, select a talent factor to show next to each employee's name in the talent matrix.
- (Optional) Select the Show High Flight Risk Icon checkbox to show the high flight risk icon for employees in the talent matrix.
- (Optional) In the Employee Sort Order drop-down list, select the talent factor used to sort employees in descending order in each box of the talent matrix.
- Note: If you don’t select a sort order, employees are sorted alphabetically by default.
- Click Save.
