Using the TFN Declaration form, Australian employees can specify their tax file number (TFN), indicate that they’ve applied for it separately, or provide their reason for TFN exemption.
When you fill out the TFN Declaration form, you must select one of the following options:
- I have made a separate application/enquiry to the ATO for a new or existing TFN.
- Exempt because I am under 18 years of age and don’t earn enough to pay tax.
- Exempt because I am in receipt of a pension, benefit or allowance.
- I would like to declare my Tax File Number.
If you select I have made a separate application/enquiry to the ATO for a new or existing TFN, Dayforce creates a temporary TFN number (111111111). This number expires 28 days from the date that the form was submitted.
Submitted and processed forms update an employee’s payroll record.
