Information submitted in the forms updates the related employee tax information fields for exemptions, allowances, and amounts, shown in the State Tax Info or Provincial Tax Info sections of the Payroll > Tax Definitions screen in People.

The following rule applies to Canadian tax forms:

  • If the value you entered in the form’s Total Claim Amount field is equal to the basic personal amount, the Apply Default Claim Amount checkbox is selected automatically and Dayforce uses the regulatory default basic personal amount every year going forward.
  • If the value you entered in the form’s Total Claim Amount field isn't equal to the basic personal amount, then the claim value is saved in the Total Claim Amount field.
