Grant Users Access to Requests They Cannot Action

When time away from work doesn’t use workflows, users can view time away from work requests for any employee they had access to, even if they don’t have to act on (that is, approve or deny) the request. For example, an employee requests time away from work, and their manager approves it. Even though the director that the manager reports to doesn’t need to action the employee’s request, they can still view it.

When using a workflow for time away from work, by default users can view only requests that they can action. This means that in the example above, the director wouldn’t be able to view the employee’s request.

To grant users access to requests they can’t act on, in System Admin > Roles in the Authorizations tab, assign the Employee TAFW Workflow Access authorization.

This access authorization enables the Actionable switch in the Filter panel in Approvals:

Actionable switch next to the Apply and Close buttons in the Filter & Sort panel.

When this switch is off, Dayforce shows requests that the user cannot action. When this switch is on, the reverse is true and Dayforce hides requests that the user cannot action.
