The Current Beneficiary Information form is used to record beneficiary information for use with employees’ benefits enrollment. It can be shown inside of enrollments, or outside enrollments in Benefits > Forms.
Before You Begin: When a dependent is also a beneficiary, changes to their birth date or their relationship to the employee must be made in the Current Dependent Information form. You can’t make these changes in the Current Beneficiary Information form when the beneficiary is also a dependent, because this information affects eligibility calculations.
Submitted and processed forms update the corresponding fields in the employee’s records in the Benefits > Dependents and Beneficiaries screen in People.
Note: If your organization isn’t using the Benefits module of Dayforce, you can configure the Dependents and Beneficiaries tab so that it’s available in the Personal section of the People profile. If your organization uses the Benefits module, it’s recommended that you configure the Dependents and Beneficiaries tab as an item in the Benefits section of the profile menu. It isn’t recommended that you make the tab available both in and out of the Benefits section of the menu. To configure the location of this tab, go to the Features tab of System Admin > Roles.
Best Practice: Allow Employees to Update Beneficiary Information Outside Enrollment
Employees can update their beneficiary information in the Current Beneficiary Information form, outside enrollment, when the form is assigned to their user role and associated with a workflow.
To assign the Current Beneficiary Information form to a user role:
- Go to Workflow Administration > Role Privileges and click Add.
- In the Parent Feature drop-down list, select Benefits Form List.
- In the Form drop-down list, select the Current Beneficiary Information form.
- Select a workflow in the drop-down list.
- (Optional) Select a category in the drop-down list.
- Click the Role column to open the role section dialog box.
- In the dialog box, select the employee user roles from the Available column and click the right arrow to move them to the Current column.
- Click Save.
The form will be available in Benefits > Forms for the user roles to which you assigned it. If you configured the form with a category, it appears under that grouping.
