Configure the Restrict Hiring until Offer Letter Accepted Client Property

The Restrict Hiring until Offer Letter Accepted client property, which is disabled by default, allows you to restrict hiring for candidates who haven't yet accepted their offer letter. This property applies for both external and internal candidates.

When you enable this property, the hire action isn't available for candidates who haven't yet accepted their offer letter. It comes into effect immediately for existing requisitions and for any candidates who have been sent offer letters. If you select candidates who haven’t yet accepted their offer letters in the candidates list and then select Hire > Mass Hire, they appear in the Ineligible Candidates tab with the reason, "Candidate didn’t accept offer."

To hire these candidates anyway, you can change their status to Offer Accepted if possible.

Note: When this client property is enabled, candidates can only be hired when their status is Offer Accepted and no other status. If job requisitions are assigned to candidate status mappings, ensure that hiring is the next stage of the mapping after candidates accept their offer letter. If the mapping triggers other downstream statuses instead, users won't be able to hire candidates until their status is restored to Offer Accepted. This applies to all users, including those with the Bypass Candidate Status Mapping role feature.

To configure this client property:

  1. Go to Recruiting Setup > Client Properties.
  2. Select the Restrict Hiring until Offer Letter Accepted client property.
  3. Select one of the following options below the property description:
    • Enable this feature: Enables the client property so that candidates who haven't yet accepted their offer letter can't be hired.
    • Disable this feature: Disables the client property so that candidates who haven't yet accepted their offer letter can be hired. This option is selected by default.
  4. Click Save.
