Configure Allow Candidates to Delete Their Data

The Allow Candidates to Delete Their Data client property enables external candidates to delete the data they’ve added to your client career sites. This property doesn’t apply to the internal Careers site in Dayforce.

When this property is enabled, candidates can go to the Account Settings screen in your client career sites and use the Delete My Data link to remove their account credentials. When this property is disabled, this link isn’t visible.

When candidates delete their data, they can no longer access their candidate profile, job applications, saved jobs, saved searches, draft applications, scheduled interviews, or pending offers. Recruiters can’t access this data, and it’s removed from your organization’s database based on your data retention policies.

Note: External candidates can delete their Dayforce Account ID information from Dayforce at any time. This is required functionality and not related to this client property. If they delete their Dayforce ID without first deleting their personal data, this data is still stored on your servers but candidates can no longer access it. They might be entitled to request that your organization remove this data. In this case, your administrators would need to remove this data manually using Personal Data Management reports.

To configure this client property:

  1. Go to Recruiting Setup > Client Properties.
  2. Select the Allow Candidates to Delete Their Data client property. The application shows two radio buttons:
    • Enable this feature: Adds the Delete My Data link to your client career sites. External candidates can click it to delete their account data.
    • Disable this feature: External candidates won’t see this link.
  3. Click Save.
