You can use the business unit import to add and update business units in your organization's hierarchy in Organization Designer > Business Units. You can add up to 500 business units at a time using the import.

Role feature access: Organization Designer > Business Units > Import

The import accepts an XML file. You can create the file in Excel and then save it as an XML file. For more information about how to create the import file, including information about the fields you need to include and sample XML, see the Dayforce Position Management - Business Unit Import Specification.

To import the file:

  1. Go to Organization Designer > Business Units.
  2. In the toolstrip, click the additional options menu, and then click Import. You can specify the as of date for the information in the import in the date field.
  3. Locate the file and click Open.

When Dayforce finishes processing the data, you can see the imported business units in the hierarchy.
