Year End Processing and Reports

For the period in which employees have the ZZ - Canadian Beyond Provinces or US - Canadian Beyond Province tax status, their T4 slips show the province code ZZ or US as their work province respectively.

If an employee works both in province and beyond province during the year, Dayforce generates a separate set of tax forms for the period in which the employee has this tax status.

For example, say that in the first six months of the year, an employee works in Ontario, and in the last six months, the employee has the ZZ - Canadian Beyond Provinces tax status. As a result, Dayforce generates the following T4 slips:

  • A T4 for the first six months that has the code ON in Box 10 (province of employment).
  • A T4 for the last six months that has the code ZZ in Box 10.

When an employee has a tax status record with ZZ - Canadian Beyond Provinces selected, the employee information section of year-end reports shows the employee's work province using the ZZ province code. When the US - Canadian Beyond Province option is selected, the year-end reports use the US code as the employee's work province.

Note: The Province filter in the parameters for reports in Year End doesn’t yet contain the option ZZ.
