Unblock Pay Runs

In Payroll > Pay Run Management users with Service User roles can unblock pay runs. Pay runs can become blocked in the rare case where a payroll job fails mid-process. In these cases, the unblock feature can be used to clear the issue and place the pay run back into the proper state.

Before You Begin: This functionality is only available for users who log in to the application using a Service User role. For more information, contact your Dayforce Representative.

When a user with a Service User role loads a pay run that is blocked, the application shows the Unblock Pay Run (Service User) button in the toolstrip at the top of the screen:

Unblock Pay Run(Service User) button in the Pay Run Management tab.

This button is shown by default for Service User roles, meaning that you do not need to activate a role feature in System Admin > Roles in the Features tab. This button is always hidden for non-Service User roles.

To unblock a pay run as a Service Role user:

  1. Go to Payroll and click either the Overview or Pay Run Management tab.
  2. Load the blocked pay run.
  3. In the Do you want to continue? dialog box, click Yes.
  4. Click Unblock Pay Run (Service User) button and, in the Please Confirm dialog box, click OK.
  5. When the unblocking process is complete, the application displays a confirmation message at the bottom right of the screen. The Unblock Pay Run (Service User) button and the message that the pay run is blocked will continue to be displayed, but you can click Refresh to clear it.
