US Earning Code Reporting Parameters

This topic contains a list of the parameters that are selected by default on system earning codes and reported as part of quarterly / annual reporting.

The reporting parameters for US earning codes can be located in Payroll Setup > Earnings and Deductions by clicking the Earnings tab, selecting an earning, clicking the Tax and Compliance sub-tab and then clicking the United States sub-tab.

Parameters in the General Section

The General section contains the following parameters that are reported with the quarter end file:

Workers' Comp Earnings

The Education Assistance earning code is flagged as educational wages for the state of Florida. Earnings entered under earning definitions using this earning code are reported to the state of Florida as educational wages.

FL Educational Wages

The Education Assistance earning code is flagged as 'educational wages' for the state of Florida. Earnings reported under earning definitions using this earning code are reported to the state of Florida as educational wages.

NY Other Wages

There are several earning codes flagged as 'other wages' for the state of New York:

  • Severance
  • 3Pty Sick Ntx
  • Move EE NTx
  • STD Pay

Earnings reported under earning definitions using these earning codes are reported to the state of New York as other wages.

WA Other Wages

The 'NonStat Stk' earning code is flagged as 'other wages' for the state of Washington. Earnings reported under earning definitions using this earning code are reported to the state of Washington as other wages.

Parameters in the State Quarterly Reporting section

In the State Quarterly Reporting section the following parameters are reported with the quarter end file:

Massachusetts Hours

There are several earning codes flagged as 'hours worked' for the state of Massachusetts:

  • Regular
  • OT 1.5
  • Vacation
  • Sick Pay
  • OT 1.0
  • DT 2.0
  • Holiday
  • Floating Hol
  • Shift Pay
  • Shift OT

Hours recorded under earning definitions using these earnings codes are reported to the state of Massachusetts as hours worked.

Minnesota Hours

There are several earning codes flagged as 'hours worked' for the state of Minnesota:
