Track Garnishment Balances for Canadian Employees

In the Payroll > Garnishments screen of People, you can track how much has been withheld for a garnishment from the last committed pay run. In the Properties tab of a selected garnishment record, the Additional Details section includes a Garnishment Balances subsection.

This section includes the read-only Total Amount Withheld field, which displays how much has been paid to the garnishment in committed pay runs. This field does not reflect amounts from uncommitted pay runs:

Total Amount Withheld value is shown under Garnishments Balances, under Addtional Details.

Moreover, when a garnishment has Balance selected in the Limit Period drop-down list of the Order Details section of its details, the application also displays the read-only Original Balance and Remaining Balance fields:

Total Amount Withheld, Original Balance and Remaining balance values are shown under Garnishment Balances, under Additional Details.

You can use these fields to track how much of a garnishment balance the employee has paid off.

Note: When a garnishment has a Balance limit period, the application deducts the garnishment until a set balance is paid off.

As is the case with the Total Amount Withheld field, these fields only include amounts from committed pay runs.
