The Payroll feature in Dayforce is where you can view pay runs, preview employee earning details, pre-tax and post-tax deductions, and employee and employer taxes. You can also examine payroll audits and problems to find any issues that need to be corrected before you commit the pay run. In addition, you can review analytical data to help determine trends in employee hours, payments, and adjustments.
The Payroll feature includes several tabs, not all of which are used for each country:
- Overview: View and load both uncommitted and committed pay runs, process payroll, run reports, create off-cycle pay runs, view package tracking, and manage statement messages. You can also process one background job type on pay runs for multiple pay groups if they are in the same state. As well, you can calculate, lock, validate, and commit pay runs.
- Data Entry: Create, edit, or delete quick entries, checks, and adjustments across one or more pay runs or one or more pay groups simultaneously.
- Pay Run Management: Load individual pay runs to process and commit, preview the pay run, and run audit reports on the pay run. You can also work with quick entries, checks, and adjustments for the loaded pay run.
- Post Commit Management: View various post commit features for whichever countries you have access to. For example, for Canada you can view the Canada GRS Data Report and the Canada Stop/Reject Report. For the United Kingdom, you can view the Tax Month Management tab and the Third Party Payments tab.
- General Ledger: View the status of background jobs related to the general ledger. Use the list of job statuses to track the GL data that is reported on or exported, or troubleshoot any errors that have occurred.
- Archived Reports: View reports that have been automatically generated during previously committed pay runs.
As a payroll administrator, you use these tabs to manage pay runs, make corrections or adjustments, and commit payroll.
