You can find the Election Management feature in Payroll Setup > Election Management. On this screen, any managed and termination rules are listed.
Role feature access: Payroll Setup > Payroll Setup > Election Management
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Add Rule | Creates a Managed or Termination rule |
| Override End Date | Opens the Override End Date dialog box, where you can add an election, set an end date, and optionally delay the override until a certain date. By default, elections that are end-dated by the managed rule have an end-date that is set on the day when the employee no longer qualifies for that election under any of the configured managed rules. You can override this default end date by selecting a unique end date for a managed election. |
| Excluded Employees |
Opens the Choose Employees dialog box, where you can exclude certain employees from Election Management. You can select employees in the Available Employees column and add them to the Selected Employees column, where employees are marked as exempt from Election Management. You can also click Remove or Remove All in the Selected Employees column to remove one or more employees so that they aren’t excluded from Election Management. Election Management will only exclude selected employees from the engine calculation and will not add or end-date any elections in employee profiles, regardless of the defined employee criteria in the managed and termination rules. |
Depending on the rule type that you select, the screen shows different sections. Regardless if you select a managed or termination rule, the screen shows the Employee Criteria section, where you can select the criteria type, the criteria, an operator, and one or more attributes. If you select a managed rule, the Managed Elections section is shown. Here, you can assign elections when an employee's profile matches the criteria that you set in the Employee Criteria section. Optionally, you can set a date to delay the election start date.
On the other hand, if you select a termination rule, the Automatically End Elections section is shown. Here, you can select an election and an end date when the status of an employee is changed to Terminated or Inactive in the employee's profile and when this change causes the employee to match the criteria in the Employee Criteria section. See Managed Rules and Termination Rules for more information about these rules and for available configuration options.
