Tax compliance rules setup is done in Payroll Setup > Earnings and Deductions. When you are configuring tax and compliance rules for an allowance or deduction in Mauritius, the Tax Compliance Rules tab has a number of fields specific to Mauritius. The Tax and Compliance Rules tab contains codes for Allowance and Deduction types.

The following is a description of fields in the Allowance section of the Tax and Compliance Rules tab in Payroll Setup > Earning and Deductions. These allowance codes include top-level tax and compliance settings as well as Mauritius-specific settings in the Mauritius sub-tab and, where applicable, options for each of them:
General
- Tax Calculation Method: Drop-down list with the following employer category options:
- EOY Bonus
- Flat
- House Benefit Furnished
- House Benefit Rent Paid
- House Benefit Unfurnished
- Lump Sum
- Lump Sum PRGF
- MUS Tax Engine Params
- Passage
- Pension
- Regular
- Taxable Fringe Benefit
- PAYE: Checkbox to identify Pay as You Earn contributions.
- NSF: Checkbox to identify the tax as a National Savings Fund tax authority.
- PRGF: Checkbox to identify the tax as Portable Retirement Gratuity Fund contributions.
- Training Levy: Checkbox to identify the tax as training levy payable contributions.
- Certified Pension: Checkbox to identify the individual is eligible for a group pension scheme.
- CSG: Checkbox to enable CSG payment on the EOY bonus tax calculation for the prescribed bonus. This EOY bonus is treated separately as remuneration for an additional month of social contributions. Dayforce treats basic salary CSG calculation separately with that of the EOY Bonus CSG calculation and also determines the chargeable percentage separately for each.
- MSWWF: Checkbox to identify the tax as Manufacturing Sector Workers Welfare Fund contributions for employees of manufacturing companies.
- TEWF: Checkbox to identify the tax as Tourism Employee Welfare Fund contributions for employees in the tourism industry.
SOE
- SOE: Drop-down list to identify the tax is applicable to the Statement of Emoluments for one of the following:
- Any Other Allowance Or Sum By Whatever Name Called
- Lump Sum
- Reimbursement of Cost of Passages by Sea, Air or Land
- Reimbursement of Cost of Personal and Private Expenses
- Retirement Pension, Annuity or Other Reward Section
- Section 1 - Salary, wages, leave pay, fee, overtime pay, etc.
- Section 2 - Bonus including end-of-year bonus
- Section 3 - Rent or housing allowance
