Payroll Import Feature Overview

The Payroll Import feature has several tabs: Overview, Payroll Elections, Quick Entries, and Automated Import Assignment.

In Payroll Import > Overview, users can import payroll elections and quick entries, which can then be worked with (viewed, approved, rejected, or published) in the Payroll Elections and Quick Entries tabs.

If you import payroll elections or quick entries in Payroll Import > Overview, or if you manually create entries in either Payroll Import > Payroll Elections or Payroll Import > Quick Entries, they are shown in a list in Payroll Import > Overview, with details shown in the following columns:

  • Import Set: Shows the import set by the name of the import file, or shows Manual Entry with the date if the entry was manually entered in either the Payroll Elections or Quick Entries tab.
  • Type: Shows whether the import was a payroll election or quick entry.
  • File: Shows the file name of the .csv file if the entry was an imported file.
  • Validation: Shows icons for error, warning, and information messages, each with a number to indicate the number of the respective message types. For imported (rather than manually entered) entries, an icon is shown that you can click to download the import log containing any relevant messages the import.
  • Status: Shows the status of the import or elements in the import using status icons signifying Pending, Approved, Published, Rejected, or Expired. A legend explaining each of the status types is shown above the list.
  • Uploaded Date: Shows the date that the import or entry was uploaded or created.
  • Uploaded By: Shows the user name of the person who uploaded the import file.

After you run an import, Dayforce shows the details of the import in a list, including information such as the import type, its validation status, and its submitter.
