Before You Begin: This section discusses Record of Employment (ROE) forms specific to Canadian employees only.
The Multiple ROE Wizard allows you to create multiple ROE entries at the same time by guiding you through the following choices:
- Selecting the appropriate employees by name or location
- Completing the ROE form blocks by entering information that apply to all of the ROEs that you're creating
You can create ROEs for the following employees:
- Employees with Active or Inactive status
- Employees whose status was Terminated within the last two years
The wizard can only be used to create new ROEs and cannot amend existing ROE forms. See Overview of Creating Amended ROEs.
If you start and use the wizard in the Pay Run Management tab, Dayforce assigns the ROEs to the pay run that you've loaded.
If you start and use the wizard in the Data Entry tab, Dayforce assigns the entries to the current pay run of the employees’ pay groups. You cannot change the pay run number when the ROEs are generated, but you can still click Move in the toolstrip to move the ROE to another pay run. See Move ROEs to Other Pay Runs.
If the employee's current regular pay run is committed, and there is an off-cycle pay run that has the Record of Employment type that is associated with the committed pay run, the application automatically populates the Pay Run field of new entries with the off-cycle pay run. If there is more than one off-cycle pay run for the committed pay run, the application automatically populates the one that was most recently created. This behavior is different from other sub-tabs of the Data Entry tab (for example, Quick Entry) where, if the current pay run is committed, the application automatically populates the Pay Run field of a payroll entry with the next regular pay run and not the off-cycle.
How to Start the Multiple ROE Request Wizard
To start the wizard, in the Pay Run Management or Data Entry tab, click Multiple ROE Request on the right end of the toolstrip.
Mass ROE Group Name
As part of creating multiple ROEs using the wizard, you define a mass ROE group name, which Dayforce displays in the Mass ROE Group column in the ROE sub-tab when you complete the wizard.
Defining a mass ROE group name allows you to:
- Easily identify the group of employees that were issued an ROE form at the same time.
- If multiple groups of employees were issued ROE forms in a pay run, you can filter the list of ROE entries in the Mass ROE Group column by the Mass ROE Group name.
- Add additional employees to the same mass ROE group later by entering the group name in the wizard.
