Before Dayforce can process statutory parental pay, the employee needs to enter the parental leave in the Leave Management screen of People. The Leave Management screen contains the dates and eligibility details that are used to calculate statutory parental payments.
After the leave request is recorded in the Leave Management screen and the start date of the leave is reached, Dayforce calculates statutory parental pay in each pay run. It does this by running the Apply UK Parental Pay Rule, which you need to add to the employee's payroll policy. You can also configure this rule to stop the application from calculating auto pay and certain scheduled allowances or deductions (for example, salary sacrifice, gym memberships, parking fees).
You can configure the application to generate the following types of statutory parental pay for UK employees:
- Shared Parental Pay (ShPP)
- Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP)
- Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP)
- Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP)
- Statutory Neonatal Care Pay (SNCP)
