With the Payroll feature, organisations in Ireland can pay their workers and manage their PAYE (Pay As You Earn) and other taxes.
The Payroll feature for Ireland offers the same key functionality as for other countries (such as Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States).
In Ireland, the tax year coincides with the calendar year: 1 January to 31 December.
When you commit a pay run in Dayforce:
- The Revenue Payroll Submission Request background job runs, which transmits committed pay run information to Revenue.
- The Revenue Payroll Submission Request background job creates two reports with details about the pay run.
Payroll Submission Return (PSR)
Employers are required to submit their payroll data to Revenue every time they commit a pay run. Revenue must receive the information on or before the date that the payment is made to employees. This periodic submission of payroll data to Revenue is known as the Payroll Submission Return (PSR).
When a payroll administrator commits a pay run, Dayforce automatically submits the PSR file to Revenue. An archived version of the PSR file is generated in the Payroll > Archived Reports screen. If there’s a technical issue that prevents the PSR from submitting, you can manually submit the archived file to Revenue with Revenue Online Service (ROS). For more information, see https://www.revenue.ie/en/online-services/support/ros-help/ros-for-employers/ros-payroll/manual-file-upload-using-payroll-software.aspx.
Also, In Payroll > Archived Reports, the following summary files are created in CSV format for each submitted PSR:
- PSR Summary Report Legal Entity Employees
- PSR Summary Report Legal Entity
- Employee payment SEPA files
If previously submitted returns have discrepancies, you can submit an amended PSR with the Correct Payroll Submission button in Payroll > Pay Run Management.
