In the Quick Entry sub-tab of the Pay Run Management and Data Entry tabs, you can load one of eight preconfigured favorites. However, you can also create your own custom favorites. A favorite is a snapshot of any combination of settings that you have made in the view or filter panels of the Quick Entry sub-tab. See also:
For example, if you use the view panel to reduce the columns displayed and to sort employees by name, and you use the filter panel to only display employees from a specific location, you can save this as one favorite. When you load this favorite, all of these settings are applied to the quick entry list.
Any favorites that you create are unique to your user account and aren’t visible to other users. Moreover, when you save a favorite, it is also available for you to load in the Data Entry tab version of the Quick Entry sub-tab, and vice versa.
To add a favorite, click Favorites and in the drop-down list click Save Favorite As.... The application opens the Add New Favorite dialog box, which lists all of the preconfigured favorites, which are marked with the bolt icon (), and any favorites you've created, which are marked with the star icon (
). The dialog box contains the Name field, which has a 150-character limit. If needed, you can select a custom favorite from the list and save over it. However, you can't save over a preconfigured favorite.
If you click the Load by Default checkbox, the favorite will be loaded by default each time you log out and back in to Dayforce, or when you go to another feature and return to the Payroll feature. Setting a favorite as a default is optional, and you can change it afterwards.
When you click Save, the application adds your favorite in the Favorites drop-down list. If you configured the favorite to load by default, the application also displays a green checkmark icon () to the right of its name in the list.
You can make changes to your favorites by clicking Manage Favorites in the Favorites drop-down list:
The application displays the Manage Favorites dialog box, which displays a list of all of your custom favorites as well as the preconfigured favorites. If a favorite was set to load by default, you can click Clear Default to clear it from being the default:
When you select a favorite in the list, the Name field is added to the bottom of the dialog box and, if it is a custom favorite, you can rename or delete it. You cannot rename or delete preconfigured favorites. If a default isn’t already selected, you can also click Load by Default to set the selected favorite as the default. You can set a custom or preconfigured favorite to load as the default.
