Favorites

Many of the sub-tabs in the Pay Run Management and Data Entry tabs of Payroll allow you to create custom favorites that you can load anytime or set to load by default. A favorite is a snapshot of settings that you have made in the Filter panel.

For more information, see the following topics:

Before You Begin: Using favorites in the Quick Entry sub-tab of the Pay Run Management and Data Entry tabs has additional functionality that isn’t applicable in other areas where favorites are used. See Favorites in the Quick Entry Sub-tab.

For example, if you use Filter panel to only display adjustments from a specific location, you can save this as one favorite. When you load this favorite, these settings are applied to the adjustment entries list.

Any favorites that you create are unique to your user account and aren’t visible to other users. Moreover, when you save a favorite, it is also available for you to load in the Data Entry tab version of each of the sub-tab, and vice versa. For example, if you create a favorite in the Checks sub-tab of Pay Run Management, it will also be available in the Data Entry version of the Checks sub-tab.

Adding a new favorite involves clicking Favorites and selecting Save Favorite As.

The application opens the Add New Favorite dialog box, which lists any favorites you've created. The dialog box contains the Name field, which has a 150-character limit. If needed, you can select an existing favorite from the list and save over it.

If you select the Load by Default checkbox, the favorite is loaded by default each time you log out and back in to Dayforce, or go to another feature and return to the Payroll feature. Setting a favorite as a default is optional, and you can change it afterward.

When you click Save, Dayforce adds your favorite to the Favorites drop-down menu. If you defined the favorite to load by default, Dayforce also displays a green checkmark to the right of its name in the list:

An item in the Favorites drop-down menu shows a green checkmark next to it.

You can make changes to your favorites by clicking Manage Favorites in the Favorites drop-down menu. The application displays the Manage Favorites dialog box, which displays a list of all of your favorites. If a favorite was set to load by default, you can click Clear Default to clear it.

When you select a favorite in the list, the Name field appears at the bottom of the dialog box. You cannot rename or delete preconfigured favorites.
